 Dear Friend of UNC Track & Field & Cross Country:

We have played host to numerous exciting meets and individual performances in recent years at the Irwin Belk Track at Fetzer Field, at the Dick Taylor Track in the Eddie Smith Field House, and at the Ranson-Hamrick Cross Country Course.  These facilities have been built through the generous support of our loyal alumni.  As we set our meet schedule for next year we are seeking to identify meet and event sponsors for the 2010 Season. We were fortunate to have several generous sponsors this past year. Sponsors can be an individual, a family or a business.  We are offering two level of sponsorship Title and Event. Title sponsors will have the opportunity to name the meet in exchange for $5,000.  Event sponsors can choose and event (100m, long jump, etc) to sponsor in exchange for $500-$1,000 depending upon whether it is for a meet or a season. The additional benefits for each category are spelled out below.  We are seeking sponsorship to expand and enhance our meets. We currently spend in excess of $50,000 per year hosting home competitions, and we would like to offset this cost as much as possible so we can provide additional opportunities for our athletes.  For those of you seeking a way to more directly impact the student athlete experience we are also seeking individuals interested in sponsoring specific away competitions for the team, such as Penn Relays and Texas Relays, and the Armory Invitational.  The amounts and benefits  involved in sponsoring these events varies greatly so please contact me directly for more information if you are interested in supporting the program in this way.  If you are interested in being a sponsor payment can be made in 2009 or by June 1, 2010 and it is tax deductible.  If you are interested we need to hear from you by December 15, 2009 so that we can match the sponsorship up with all of our printed materials (posters, media guides, etc.).  Be aware that popular events and dates will go fast so please contact me at craddock@uncaa.unc.edu or               919-962-5199        if you have any interest or questions.

      UNC Track & Field & Cross Country 2010 Meet Sponsorship

      Title Sponsorship

      1 Day Meet - $5,000 in per date (7 dates available per year including cross country)

      2 Day Meet - $10,000 per date (1 date available per year)

      Title Sponsor receives the following:

1.        Sponsor will have naming rights to meet. Meet will be named after individual or company designated by that sponsor.  Note complete meet name must include reference to UNC.

2.         Meet name (as describe in 1) will appear on all schedule materials (posters and media guides) as well as the schedules on the UNC Website.

3.         Meet name will appear on the cover page of the meet program. Sponsor will have the option of a one page black and white advertisement in the meet program, this could include a coupon or promotional offer.

4.        Meet Name and title sponsor will be recognized regularly by the meet announcer during the course of the event.

5.        Title sponsor will be allowed banner space for up to 4 banners at the competition venue for the duration of the meet.

6.        Title sponsor will be entitled to promotional opportunity on the electronic scoreboard at the named competition.

7.        Sponsor will be recognized in Spike Shoe Newsletter and receive Gold Level Membership in the Spike Shoe Track Club.

8.        Sponsor will have the option of being recognized and presenting up to two awards at the sponsored meet.

9.        Meet sponsor will receive a team jacket

10.     Press release announcing season will prominently feature titles sponsors

       Event Sponsor Naming Rights

       $500 for 1 Meet

       $1,000 for 2010 Season (Indoor 4 Meets & Outdoor 3 Meets, Indoor & Outdoor are separate seasons)

       Example John Smith 100M, or Speedy Lube 800.

      Event Sponsor receives the following:

1.        Name of event will appear in all scheduling materials for that event.

2.        Event sponsor will be allowed a 1/4 page black and white advertisement in the program.

3.        Event sponsor will be mentioned by the meet announcer when the event occurs in the course of the meet.

4.        Event sponsor will be entitled to promotional space on the scoreboard at the competition at the time of the sponsored event.

5.        Event sponsor will be recognized in Spike Shoe Newsletter and receive Gold Medal Level Membership in the Spike Shoe Track Club.

6.        Event Sponsor will have the option of being recognized at the meet or meets which features there sponsored events.

Sponsor an away Meet ranging from $1,000.00 and up

1.   Event sponsor will be recognized in the Spike Shoe Newsletter and receive Gold Medal Level Membership in the Spike Shoe Track Club.

Sponsor our Annual Hall of Honor awards Banquet Dinner for $2,000.00 and up

1.  Event sponsor will recieve a table for 8 to attend and enjoy a great evening of Hall of Honor inductees (Olympians and NCAA Champions) in addition to current student-athletes being recognized for their hard work in the classroom and on the track.

2.   Event sponsor will be recognized by the host and speaker of the dinner banquet.

3.   Event sponsor will be recognized in the Spike Shoe Newsletter and receive Gold Medal Level Membership in the Spike Shoe Track Club.
